During our week of fasting at our church we did several ministries. One of them was we all donated items to make Blessing Bags. The requested items were: toothbrush, deodorant, baby wipes, socks, water, granola bar, scarf etc. At the end of the fast once all the items were assembled in a gallon zip lock baggy, each member walked out of church with one bag. The purpose of the Blessing Bags was to give a homeless individual a little blessing in a bag!!! I ended up with 2 bags since that Sunday we drove in my car, I got Jacob’s bag too
The first man I gave the bag to I think he was just trying to make some money but really had a home to go to at the end of the day. It’s not my job to judge so I gave him the bag. He said thank you then hit on me lol. The next bag went to an elderly man. I let Madelyn roll down her window and hand it to him. He genuinely was so grateful that he ended up with so much more than just a buck. I knew when I saw his happiness this was something I wanted to continue to do!
Soooooooooooooooooo, I went to my local Dollar General and stocked up on a few items. I bought a few basics such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant and baby wipes. This is just enough to keep them clean from day to day. For less than $20 I was able to buy for 4 bags
Here is one for a man….
And for a woman
This is something that is cheap and can really help a person with little to nothing, have a blessed day! Just think about it the next time you go to McDonald’s and buy a combo for $5. You could have set a homeless individual up for a week or so to keep clean. Just some food for thought
Have a great weekend!!!
